This EP was recorded and produced almost entirely during the first summer of the pandemic when there was almost nothing else we could do. He was sharing a loft space with his wife at the time with no internal rooms except for the bathroom so he worked his recording schedule around his very accommodating wife. It was an intense, creative time, and you can hear the fruits of it in these recordings.
Freeze ICE is a song I wrote after watching a viral video of children crying in their classroom after learning that their parents had been arrested in an ICE raid of a Koch chicken factory in Mississippi. I was struck that the raids had left these children with no one to pick them up at school or care for them. The teacher was waiting with them and holding them. This was traumatic for the entire family, but the employers would face absolutely no consequences.
